Michael Christensen: Owner, LMT, CPT & Level 1 CrossFit Trainer
Mike started his journey by earning a B.S. in Exercise Science at Towson University. While earning a degree at Towson, Mike gained hands on experience working at Life Fitness Physical Therapy. After graduation, he moved to South Carolina and shortly after graduated from South Carolina Massage & Esthetics Institute. This intensive program demands over 600 hours of hands on practice before a license is granted. Mike earned his personal training degree through the American Fitness Professionals & Associates (AFPA), as well as attained his Level 1 CrossFit Trainer in 2013. These courses have given him the knowledge and experience to work with clients of different backgrounds and abilities.
While attending Towson University Mike was a student-athlete, competing in Division 1 Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track. Mike's extensive knowledge of sports, fitness, nutrition and overall health aid in his abilities to bring your body back into balance.
Mike focuses his work on both local clients as well as those just visiting the area, and has many testimonials to highlight his body work on Tripadvisor. His clientele include past Olympians, Professional Tennis Players, PGA golfers, World Level triathletes, State and Collegiate level runners and many "weekend warriors". Mike has helped many athletes reach their fitness goals, or others get back to their daily activities.
In his spare time Mike is still a very active athlete. As both an endurance athlete and a CrossFiter, he focuses his training on constantly varied, functional movements at high intensity, and knows what it takes to get fellow athletes "back in balance" quickly through his knowledge of human anatomy and the specifics of the WOD's. Mike coached for several years at Conviction Training Facility CTF-The Original CrossFit Hilton Head. He was part of the Brooks ID Program and his dedication to the sport allowed him to qualify and run the 2011 Boston Marathon, where he was able to successfully qualify again for 2012. Mike is also an avid triathlete having completed numerous sprint, Olympic, Half Ironman distances and in 2016 completed The Great Floridian 140.6 in Clermont, Florida finishing 2nd place in his Age Division. Mike recently ran the for the 2021 Chicago Marathon and the Berlin Marathon in 2023 raising funds and awareness to the American Fountain for Suicide Prevention in his brothers honor and looks forward to future marathons.
